*The owners of Del Soul Spa in Newington announced they are opening a second location called Eliana Glastonbury in the house on the corner of New London Turnpike and Rankin Road. They hope to be up and running by SPRING of 2021. Stay tuned!
*Dime Bank recently held their grand opening in the old bank space on Hebron Avenue in the Square Peg plaza. They have locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island. This is their first Glastonbury location.
*Robert's Lakehouse is now OPEN in the former Angelica's Lakehouse in East Hampton. They are across from Lake Pocotopaug and have ideal outdoor seating during the warmer months!
*Hartford Baking Company is transitioning their New Park Avenue Location in West Hartford to a new concept called Citizen Chicken and Donuts. They will be closing the location to make the switch! We will keep you posted on their reopening under this new restaurant.
*Also in West Hartford, there is a new restaurant called BIRDCODE HOT CHICKEN on Park Road that is getting rave reviews. They offer a simple menu of Nashville-style HOT chicken including sandwiches, wings, and tenders, along with sides. We love their decor and can't wait to taste some of their offerings.

#3: SANTA'S CABIN AT CAVANNA FARMS
Kuddos to John Cavanna for making dreams come true for many people during the holiday season! His vision to bring a train and Santa's Cabin to Cavanna Farms came to life just in time for Christmas! John knows more about trains than anyone we have ever met and his passion shines through when he talks about his Gray Granite Railroad. Rides to see Santa are closed until next year, but be sure to add it to your list for Christmas 2021.
#2: THE EDGE FITNESS IN LIMBO
People are, quite frankly, obsessed with this story! Plans for The Edge Fitness coming to Glastonbury have been put on hold. Here is what we know as of this publication: 1. The Edge has delayed moving forward with building the interior space of the new building behind Chili's. 2. The landlord recently put the space up for lease, but told The Scoop that The Edge still has plans to begin a build out this July and open in January of 2022. We have NO CONFIRMATION that they are not planning to open in town. As with everything in 2020, this is a fluid situation and will change as time goes on. We will be sure to keep you posted!
#1: DAIRY QUEEN COMING TO GLASTONBURY
Who knew how much people love Dairy Queen? Not us, that's for sure! Our BREAKING SCOOP story about Dairy Queen taking over the former Boston Market on Main Street broke reach records for The Scoop on social media. Our post reached more than 25,000 people in ONE DAY! We are still waiting to hear back about when they are expected to open, but we know for sure that there will be a line out the door when they do!
