BLOWOUTS BY ABBE…EMPOWERED EXPANSION PLANS

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

FEATURED SCOOP: BLOWOUTS BY ABBE

Abbe Kierstein has made a name for herself by making women look beautiful one blow dry at a time. Her business, Blowouts by Abbe, has gained popularity throughout town and beyond for it’s mobile blowout service. Abbe will come to you and blow out your hair in the comfort of your very own home. Talk about convenient! Although her business name points to blow outs, she does much more, including in-salon treatments such as cut & style, color, and keratin. She is also available for proms, weddings, and senior portraits. We love Abbe’s reinvention story. She was a teacher for years while dabbling in hair on the side, until she decided to pursue her dream full-time. She operates her business on-the-go or at Beauty on the Ave Salon on Hebron Avenue. Find her all over Facebook and Instagram to see her portfolio of all the clients she has made gorgeous.

BIG PLANS IN THE WORKS FOR EMPOWERED INDOOR CYCLING STUDIO

Empowered Indoor Cycling Studio is expanding. The popular fitness spot is currently renovating the space upstairs from their current location. Owner, Jocelyn DeMaio says, they plan to offer low impact, full body, strength training classes. One of the classes will be a 30/30…30 minutes of cycling followed by 30 minutes of strength training. One hour and done – boom! They are in the beginning stages of this build out, but plan to be up and running by January 2019. Check back with us for an exact date and word on their new name!

DETAILED LOOK AT 400 HEBRON AVENUE DEVELOPMENT

A few weeks back, we told you about plans for development across from the new apartment complex, One Glastonbury Place. We were recently given a 2-D rendering of the building by developer, Evan Schwartz, and wanted to share it with you. The plan is to replace the existing old structures with a brand new, one-story building that will include retail and restaurant space and outdoor seating along Hebron Avenue. If the plan is approved by Town Plan & Zoning this December, they hope to start construction in the Spring of 2019.

Recently, at just 27 years old, Stephanie had two severe strokes that left her unable to walk. She is on an extremely long road to recovery that includes a lot of medical bills. Join them next Monday for some food or a quick marg to show support for this strong, young woman. She is fighting hard to regain enough strength to be there. Don’t miss it! Admission is FREE, but a portion of the night’s sales from food and drinks will go toward Stephanie’s GoFundMe page.
