CAR DETAIL BUSINESS OPENS…NEW DONUTS AT HARPO’S

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

19-YEAR OLD OPENS AUTO DETAIL BUSINESS

Jimmy Kask has been hustling since he was little. The 19-year Glastonbury resident old used to sell legal fireworks on the corner in his neighborhood and later rode his dad’s mower from house to house asking people if they needed their lawn mowed. In high school, he developed a love for cars and enjoyed detailing the inside, literally shining them until they sparkled. His passion drove him to start his own business out of his dad’s garage in Glastonbury. It grew so much that he is now opening Apex Auto Detailing just over the line in Portland. Apex offers a unique service called Ceramic Pro. It provides permanent protection for the duration of the vehicle. Apex also offers car storage for anyone looking to keep their car out of the elements or in a safe place while they’re away. Check out this awesome space below and find Apex on Facebook.

TWO POPULAR EATERIES RELOCATING

The owners of The Spicy Green Bean and Goats ‘N Roses recently announced there will be new locations for their two restaurants. The Spicy Green Bean has been searching for new space for awhile and found it. We’ve heard about a possible location, but nothing is confirmed from our end and we haven’t heard back from them yet. If you know, we would love to hear from you! Over the weekend, they also announced they are searching for a new location for Goats ‘N Roses. The popular outdoor restaurant in Marlborough was at The Farm at Carter Hill for the last two summers. Check back with us for an update on both of these stories.

HARPO’S ADDS FAMOUS SHORELINE DONUTS

Harpo’s Bakery recently added Beach Donut to their offerings. These delicious donuts are famous along the CT Shoreline. They are located in Clinton, but we hear that everyone from Old Saybrook drives there just to get their fix of these donuts! And, now you can get them right here in town. Stop by and taste these mouth-watering treats for yourself.

BEER TOURS THROUGH HARTFORD

Have we been living under a rock? It sure feels like it, because we had NO idea that you can take a prepaid bus tour of the breweries in Hartford for just $15! Yes…a ticket to ride this BREW BUS is yours for just 15 bucks! The Thursday Night Shuttle will take you to Hog River Brewing (which we hear is amazing), Hanging Hills Brewing Company (also heard this is great…we really need to up our brewery game), and Thomas Hooker Brewery (an old favorite). The bus runs every 45 minutes between locations from 5:30 to 9:00 PM. You have to pre-order tickets HERE. Even though we are late to the party (this has been around for 2 years!), we can’t wait to try it.

ODDS AND ENDS…

*The Yoga Shop’s Glastonbury location has announced their Grand Opening date. The popular yoga studio is opening their doors in the factory on Naubuc Avenue November 24th. This will be their 6th location. Check back with us for pictures of their new space.

*If you haven’t taken a ride to Springfield to see one of the largest holiday light displays in the country, you should. Bright Nights Opening Night is November 21st from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. I mean…it’s $6 per car! Gather up the fam and head north for a fun way to kick off the season.

*Santa has arrived at Westfarms. This year’s theme for a visit with Santa is Santa’s Flight Academy. Kids get to try on a virtual flight suit, map Santa’s route, and play in the snow before visiting with the big guy!
