NAUBUC AVE CONDO COMPLEX PROPOSAL


A proposal for a condo complex behind Katz Hardware on Naubuc Avenue passed the Town Plan and Zoning Commission last week. The development site is a couple of doors down from the back of Katz. Cortland Place will be a 10-unit complex within walking distance of town. We will keep you posted on the next steps for this project.


WINERY LOOKING TO ADD CRAFT BEER


Crystal Ridge Winery is looking to add craft beer to their offerings. The winery, on Belltown Road, has been a popular attraction for it’s delicious wine and spectacular views. The owners are seeking approval to add a farm brewery to the existing location. Stay tuned to see if this passes.



NEW LACTATION EXPERT OFFERS RANGE OF SERVICES


Oh Baby! Lactation Care recently opened on Commerce Street in the Thrive Center for Health. Lori Atkins is a registered nurse and certified lactation consultant. Her specialty is complex breastfeeding cases, but she offers a range of services, including prenatal visits to get parents ready for the breastfeeding process. She loves connecting women with one another and runs an online support group that she intends to transform to in-person this November. NEW COMMUNITY OUTREACH OFFICER IN TOWN


The Glastonbury Police Department has appointed a new community outreach officer. Officer Michael Magrey, pictured below, will be in charge of a number of tasks, including resolving public safety issues, communicating with businesses and property owners about crime prevention, and building relationships within the community. *This weekend, Pinwheels is holding a Halloween Boo Bash. The party is Saturday, October 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. There will be popcorn, candy, and spooky games with prizes.


*The Shops at Somerset Square will have their Annual Trick or Treat Parade Saturday, October 27th from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. Kids are invited to wear their costume and parade around the square collecting candy.


*New or expecting parents, Sunday, October 28th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Thrive Center for Health is offering a car seat check clinic. It’s by appointment only. Call them at (860) 714-5477 to reserve your spot.
