Fun story alert: Dr. John was working at Raffa's while in dental school when a few of his customers (who were dentists) encouraged him to open his own practice in Glastonbury. So he did. A true, from-the-ground-up story of success. Decades later, they have come full circle with the addition of Dr. Nick. BELGIAN WAFFLE CAFE OPENING FIRST CT LOCATION
We think this is pretty cool and were excited to break this story last week on CT LIVE on NBC CT. There is a new belgian waffle cafe coming to the plaza with One Stop Spirit Shop and Bicycles East. Zinneken's Waffles has two locations in Massachusetts. A husband and wife from Farmington will open the first CT location right here in town. This place is the real deal! All of the ingredients are imported straight from Belgium. The original founders are Belgian and have crafted a centuries-old recipe to create their delicious offerings: LIEGE (soft and chewy) or BRUSSELS (light and crispy) waffles with all kinds of decadent toppings...can we say YUM??? Build out of the space begins soon and they hope to be open by the summer.
FABLETICS STORE COMING TO WESTFARMS
We are pretty psyched about this...Fabletics is opening their first Connecticut store at Westfarms! (SAY WHAT?!) The athletic wear retailer was mainly online until 2015 when they began opening stores worldwide. Founded by actress, Kate Hudson in 2013, Fabletics offers workout gear for ALL. With bright colors, beautiful designs, and features like their stay-put waistband (NEED!), we think this will be a regular stop for us! The Westfarms store is expected to open this summer.
GLASTONBURY RESIDENT OPENS BIKINI SHOP ALONG THE SHORE
Hayley Walter opened her first brick and mortar store at Westbrook Outlets this past weekend. HAYLEZ is a collection of quality bikinis and lounge wear. The Glastonbury resident began designing her own swimsuits after graduation from college and working in companies like TJX. The suits are hand sewn, custom-fit, and designed to mix and match. *There is a unique event happening at Sacred Rivers Yoga on Saturday, April 4th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Sharon Sklar (of Sharon Sklar Rolfing) is hosting a Yamuna Body Rolling workshop.
