NEW ESCAPE ROOM OPENS IN ROCKYHILL
There is a fun new spot in Rocky Hill and we had to share. Codeword Escape Room Adventures opened a few months ago on the Silas Deane Highway. It’s a pretty cool concept. Essentially, there is a room filled with puzzles and participants must work together to complete the ‘mission’, or in some cases, escape in 60 minutes. It’s a great spot for families or office gatherings, so everyone can learn to work as a team. Check out their website for pricing and info. BLIND WOMAN LAUNCHES WELLNESS BUSINESS
If you think you can’t do something, you need to read this! Susanne Cesana is quite an amazing individual. Blind since she was 11 years old, she has proved over and over in her life that not being able to see won’t stop her. Recently, the 65-year old launched her own wellness business, Empowered Lifestyle. She educates clients about nutrition and plant-based medicine, including pure essential oils. She also endorses a ketogenic diet. Her business name comes from her repeat mantra…that living like this is an Empowered Lifestyle, because YOU have the tools to make you feel your best. She is motivated by her three grandkids. And, oh, no big deal or anything, but she runs half marathons! Find her on Facebook.
NEW ORANGE THEORY IN MANCHESTER
There is a new Orangetheory Fitness opening in Manchester. It’s located in the same plaza as Trader Joe’s a few doors down. The Manchester location is owned by the same people who own Glastonbury. If you don’t know, you can join one Orangetheory and attend any location. So convenient! We hear they expect to open Manchester sometime in March.
STRAND SALON ADDS “BAR”
Have you noticed that we love highlighting when businesses do unique things? Strand Salon recently added a processing/refreshment bar. What can you get at said “bar”? Coffee, tea, wine (excuse me?!), infused water, homemade biscotti, phone chargers, wifi, Netflix. We might just go there and hang out! Not really, but sounds fab. Check it out below.
FOUNDER OF KINDNESS ROCKS PROJECT COMING TO GLASTONBURY
The kindness is literally radiating from this story! Megan Murphy, the Founder of The Kindness Rocks Project is visiting Glastonbury at the end of February. Her connection to town started when resident, Lori Lucey, created the Kindness Rocks Garden at Hopewell School. Lori has been chosen as a Kindness Rocks Movement Ambassador to help spread the word of kindness organically. We are so proud and happy for her! Talk about someone who has found their calling. Back to Megan Murphy’s visit…she will be the guest of honor at a book signing for her new book, A Pebble for Your Thoughts at Riverbend Book Shop on February 25th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The following day, Megan is kicking off a nationwide speaking tour right here in Glastonbury and will give a private presentation to students at Hopewell called ‘The I in Kind’. It teaches kids ways to be more kind in their daily life. What an honor!

*We have to tell you about an Instagram account we love. 1. It’s hysterical and gives us a good laugh each day. 2. This funny chick is from Glastonbury. The account is called M.O.B (Mother of Boys) Truths and is run by Karen (Galinsky) Lesh. She has three boys, works full-time, and still finds time to brighten up our day. Follow her HERE.
