FARM TRACTOR TURNS 100…FARM FRESH FLOWER STAND

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

FARM TRACTOR TURNS 100

Joseph Preli Farm and Winery will hold a birthday bash this July 4th for a tractor that is turning 100 years old. It’s not just any tractor…the 1918 Fordson was the FIRST tractor on Matson Hill and possibly the first tractor in South Glastonbury and it still runs! (LISTEN BELOW) It was purchased by August Preli who came to town from Northern Italy in the 1800’s. Winery owners, John and Jeanne, will host the tractor’s private birthday party with a clambake and barbeque. Not to worry though…everyone will get a chance to celebrate. The tractor will be at the winery through the summer. Stop by and say Happy Birthday! And, while you’re there, stay, relax, and try some wine.

NEW FARM STAND TO OFFER FRESH FLOWERS

A new farm stand in town will offer a beautiful selection of fresh cut flowers. Graceful Acres (we love the name) is at the end of Coldbrook Road near Glastonbury Hills Country Club. Grace Christie is the niece of Rob from Robb’s Farm. She grows all kinds of flower varieties and will offer them at her new stand when it opens at the end of July. Take a drive and see this adorable little spot or find Grace on Facebook and Instagram.
