FEATURED SCOOP: UNIQUE FINDS AT ON THE GREEN FINE ART & CRAFT SHOW THIS WEEKEND
Rare finds and uncommon goods will be on full display at this weekend's 57th (Wow!) Annual On The Green Art & Craft Show on the Hubbard Green at the corner of Main and Hubbard Streets. For more than five decades, Glastonbury Arts has hosted this unmatched event giving folks an up close look at some extraordinary artists and their work. This year will feature an array of talent, including an award-winning oil painter, a husband and wife team who create gorgeous jewelry from 19th century sea glass, and a master wood worker who carves beautiful bowls and platters. There will be LIVE music, food trucks, and poetry readings. FREE admission and parking at the soccer field along with a shuttle to and from the high school. Show time is 10:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. Don't miss the chance to find something that makes you happy for your home or get in some early holiday shopping!
SEED BAGEL SHOP TO REPLACE NOW CLOSED COMMERCE EATERY
A super fun, new breakfast and lunch spot is coming to Commerce. Seed Bagel Shop will open in the old Commerce Eatery location this October! The name comes from their belief that great things start with a seed (Ever read The Carrot Seed?). Owners, Todd and Ari DiBattista (Ari is a 2002 GHS grad - LOVE!) will offer funky bagel sandwiches, outdoor seating, and eventually some lawn games (when the weather is nice next spring). They are currently refreshing the space. Check back with us for a sneak peek before they open.
GIOVANNI'S ADDING OUTDOOR BAR
We were excited to see construction begin on the outdoor bar at Giovanni's Pizzeria in the center of town. It's actually a pretty good size, so there will be plenty of space for a fun meet-up with friends. Is this the first actual outdoor BAR in town? Kind of amazing...we like the way they think! SPREAD KINDNESS IN HONOR OF LITTLE BOY
Today is Kyle Ashley's birthday...this beautiful boy would have been 8 years old today, but his life was tragically cut short by cancer last year. To honor him and the giant hole that was left when he died, his family would be so grateful if you would take some time today to consciously spread kindness. Consider doing one random act of kindness today to honor the memory of this happy little guy! And, please pass the word along...

*Minnechaug Golf Course is offering a Junior Golf Clinic and Junior Golf League starting this September. Both will be held on Sundays starting September 8th. To register, email golfminnechaug@gmail.com.
*Your CBD Oil Store will host an informational session about CBD Tuesday, September 24th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. They will talk about what CBD is and how it can help you. There will be CBD infused refreshments, raffle prizes, and a private discount sale.
*We want to draw your attention to a golf tournament in honor of a friend's husband who was killed in a car accident a few years ago. Jim Marcelynas was a father of two young children and the chief flight nurse with Lifestar when he died. The money raised through the tournament (Saturday, September 7th at 12:00 PM at Topstone in South Windsor) will go toward a scholarship for a graduating senior at Wethersfield High School. *The Yard Goats will kick it up a notch at their beer fest this year by adding WINE! Did they read our mind or something?! The G.O.A.T. Brew & Wine Fest will be October 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. They even offer an entry fee for designated drivers...LOVE that! Find all the deets HERE.
