FEATURED SCOOP: THE BEAMHOUSE OFFERS SOME OF THE BEST FOOD IN A MODERN SETTING
Off the beaten path in the apartment complex, The Tannery on New London Turnpike, is The Beamhouse. Open for one year this month, the restaurant has become a fast favorite. The atmosphere: bright and welcoming...a decor of reclaimed wood, brick, and metal along with a cozy little taproom (available for private events) that offers an impressive list of libations to delight the most enthusiastic beer lovers. Executive Chef, Nick Souza (previously from the Golden Lamb Buttery) has helped craft a unique dining experience with a varied menu using the best foods from around the world. Their scratch kitchen offers an eclectic mix of options for vegans, vegetarians, pizza and meat lovers, and gluten-free needs. UNIQUE DANCE STUDIO OPENING ON OAKWOOD
A new dance studio coming to Oakwood will offer some interesting class options for dancers. The Code Center of Dance Excellence will be located at 174 Oakwood Drive near M.E.L.T Fitness. The owner has some pretty impressive experience. Eduardo Vazquez was a performer in the popular Cirque du Soleil show, Mystere. He will offer classes for all ages and dance levels. OLD HEALTHTRAX OFFICE SPACE TEMPORARILY FILLED
The local democratic party has leased the space on Main Street next to Cycling Concepts leading up to November elections. The space has been vacant for some time. The new owners of that building and the one behind it down in the parking lot are still working on development plans for the site. It could be awhile before any project gets underway, but we will keep you posted.
GLASTONBURY YOUTH FOOTBALL TO HOST FUN LADIES NIGHT
Don't miss this amazing night with your best girls! The Scoop is excited to host Designer Handbag BINGO at the Irish American Home Saturday, September 28th at 6:00 PM. Untapped Potential is hosting a casual meet up with like-minded peers and mentors from different industries to talk about returning to work. Mark you calendar for August 22nd from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.
*The town is holding their 1st Annual Doggy Paddle at Addison Pool. Tuesday, September 3rd from 4:30 to 5:30 PM and 5:45 to 6:45 PM, dogs will be able to take a dip during those times. There will be related vendors during the event. Click HERE to be a vendor.
