MAIN STREET BUILDINGS SOLD…NEW ONLINE BOUTIQUE

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

TWO BUILDINGS ON MAIN STREET SOLD TO NEW OWNERS

The two buildings on Main Street across from the fountain in the center of town have been sold to new owners. This is where Wang Palace, Liquid Nirvana, Bollywood, Cycling Concepts, and Sign Wiz Signs & Graphics are located. The deal has been in the works for awhile, but they recently closed on the buildings. We have been told by the new owners they will eventually develop the properties. One possibility includes bringing the building that sits back up to the street with parking behind it. There are obviously different options and lots of approvals to get through before anything happens. We will keep you posted, but think this is pretty exciting!

GLASTONBURY RESIDENT LAUNCHES BOUTIQUE CLOTHING WEBSITE

Brittany Beckwith has always had a knack for fashion. The UConn grad majored in fashion merchandising and later worked for an agency in New York City where she learned many tricks of the trade. After moving to Glastonbury to be closer to home, she decided to use that expertise to start something of her own. Her online clothing boutique, Olive French, is named after her adorable French bulldog (see pic below) and features a mix of trends. Brittany says she chooses clothing that helps clients build a wardrobe, but also mixes in some other pieces that are on trend to keep things fresh. She searches for looks that appear high-end, but are more affordable. You can get a first-hand look at her merchandise during a pop-up shop at Rooftop 120 May 9th at 4:30 PM. To see all of her latest offerings, follow her on Insta or Facebook.

TOWN WILL ALLOW BREWERY TO HAVE FOOD TRUCKS/MUSIC ON PROPERTY

The town passed a request by Hops on the Hill Brewery in South Glastonbury to have food trucks and acoustic music. Breweries often allow patrons to bring their own food, but this will be another option. The brewery, off Dug Road, is expected to open this summer. Check out recent picks of their development below.
