TOWNHOMES ON HOUSE STREET APPROVED
A proposal for townhomes has been approved by the Town Plan & Zoning Commission. The 3-building development will be located at the corner of House Street and Salmon Brook Drive and includes seventeen, 2-bedroom townhomes. It's a great location...just a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown (major plus)! Stay tuned for a construction timeline.
ALDI GROCERY STORE EXPECTED IN NEW MANCHESTER DEVELOPMENT
A giant new development in South Windsor near Evergreen Walk will include a new Aldi grocery store. Have you been to Aldi? They have some great deals, so we will be pretty darn excited if this happens. According to The Hartford Business Journal, town records show construction on Aldi is expected to begin soon. NIGHT SKY TOURS IN MARLBOROUGH
Have you heard about this super cool program out of Marlborough? Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights throughout the year, Mark Coppinger takes you on a tour of the galaxy. The program starts at 9:00 PM each night and runs for 90 minutes. You will learn about star clusters, nebula, double stars, giant red stars and other galaxies. Cost includes binocular rental. *The Old Cider Mill will kick off their annual fall festival September 12th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It will run weekends through the fall. We can't wait to bring the kids to one of our beloved Glastonbury spots.
*This Wednesday, September 2nd from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, the Welles-Turner Memorial Library will hold a virtual Debt Management and Credit Repair workshop. Kathleen Titsworth from the Connecticut Department of Banking will discuss ways to manage your debt and repair your credit the right way and avoid common mistakes. Click HERE to register.
*Foodshare has a new schedule for those in need picking up food at Rentschler Field. Starting September 1st, they will be distributing food Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM through the entrance at 615 Silver Lane. For more details, click HERE.
