"THE BARN" COMING TO OLD APPALACHIAN TAILS SPACE
There is new life on the horizon for the old Appalachian Tails barn on Griswold Street behind Mermaid Pool & Spa. You may have noticed the new siding on this gorgeous old post and beam barn. Glastonbury resident, Jim Kask and property owner Joe Tomkieveich are transforming the barn into a new, state of the art co-working space called The Barn. There will be approximately 20 individual offices for rent, several high-tech conference rooms and a coffee shop. They're currently searching for a current coffee business in town that may be seeking a second location and would be interested in partnering with them. There will also be two outdoor patios for additional meeting space. They expect to be up and running by late fall. DRIVE-IN MOVIES TO THE ELKS
A temporary drive-in movie theater is coming to The Glastonbury Elks on Woodland Street. Mike Tierney and his family present "The Tierney Family Drive-In". Tierney is a 1988 GHS grad and wants to help enrich the community he loves. He currently runs Audio Media Solutions and owns a giant, outdoor movie screen that will make this possible. Here is how it will work: Tickets will go on sale every Monday at 9:00 AM and be first come first serve. There will be 60 car spots for each show including some lawn seats for individual families. They plan to follow strict social distancing protocols to make this an event everyone can enjoy. There will eventually be some convenient features: 1. Complete family meals you can order through a website for pickup upon arrival 2. Our friends at Blue Chip Creamery Ice Cream Truck will serve ice cream (you will text them from your spot and they will bring it right to your car...yummm YES PLEASE!). NEW FOOD TRUCK APP HELPS YOU FIND YOUR FAVE
Glastonbury High School graduates Will and Chris Peters recently developed an app that helps you find your favorite food truck. Will had the idea when things started to open after quarantine and he realized there was no local list of where to find food trucks. How cool is that?! Truckin is a simple, user-friendly map that shows you the schedule for food trucks today and tomorrow. This FREE app is available for download NOW. Check it out!
TEQUILA RIO TO OPEN ON THE RIVERFRONT IN WETHERSFIELD
There is a new Mexican restaurant opening across the river in Wethersfield. Tequila Rio held a soft opening last week. They are the sister restaurant to The River: A Waterfront Restaurant and will be located in the same building. This is directly across the Putnam Bridge. We have heard some great things about their initial tasting. Follow them on social to find out when they open with a full schedule.

*The Town of Glastonbury has approved a new fee for those who want to use Cotton Hollow Perserve. You will eventually be able to get a $5 daily pass through the town website. We will keep you posted when they have a link up and running. There will also be a park ranger monitoring the area.
