UNTUCKit OPENS NEW LOCATION
UNTUCKit opened last week in Westfarms. The men’s retailer has grown to an impressive 60 locations in just 8 years and this is their first greater Hartford store. We really wish we came up with their simple idea of creating shirts that can be worn untucked. A regular shirt just doesn’t seem to do the untuck justice, right? They are located on the upper level of the shopping center near JCPenney. To see some of their merch, click HERE.
OLD GYMBOREE SPACE FILLED
The Red Geranium has taken over the former Gymboree space in The Shops at Somerset Square. The antique shop was previously located at that old red house on the corner of Hebron Avenue and House Street. That land is now owned by Rosy Kapur of Liquid Nirvana. She plans to build new and relocate there. The Red Geranium sells antique furniture and household decor. Visit them in their new spot.
SQUARE PEG PIZZA & ARCADE CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY
We get so many inquiries about this story! Construction has now started on the interior of Square Peg Pizza & Arcade. They were waiting for permits and approval. We spoke with one of the owners who said they hope to be done within a two-month time frame. Along with pizza, there will be old-school arcade games for the kids….hence the reason for all the interest. Hey kids…here’s some money, go play games while we eat in peace! At least we like to think this is how it will play out. We will keep you posted on an opening date.
JOIN THE OLDEST RUNNING POOL CLUB IN TOWN
It’s almost summer people! Do you know what you are doing with your kids for the next two and a half months? Well, we have an idea…for a little over $15 per day, you can keep them happy, busy, and entertained! (I’m sorry…what?!) Orchard Hill Pool Club has been offering this fun for families since 1941, so they are pretty much experts. FUN FACT: They were the very FIRST club of it’s kind in town and started as a pond. This gorgeous little spot off Overlook Drive has beautiful, well-maintained grounds (lots of member pride at OHC), swim and tennis teams and lessons, and a zillion events for kids and adults (Burger Nights, Movie Nights, Adult Social, Ladies Night). One of our favorite parts about this club is that you can keep your eyes on the kiddos from one spot…whether they are playing tennis, basketball, in the pool or on the playscape (kind of amazing!) We challenge you to find another way to spend so little, but get so much for an entire summer! Hit them up HERE for membership info.

*The new art gallery in South Glastonbury will extend their hours for the summer. JW Frame Crafters Fine Art Gallery will be open later on Fridays. Here’s an idea…if there is a wait at Sayulita or 2 Hopewell, why not pop over and check out their gorgeous gallery? Sounds like a great way to pass the wait time! Read more about them HERE.
*Bodeau Realty Group will host their 2nd Outdoor Movie Night series at Riverfront Park this summer. There will be popcorn, face painting, and food trucks. Admission is FREE. The dates are: June 19th, June 26th, and July 3rd. The movie starts at dusk. Follow them on Facebook to find out what their feature presentations will be.
*Root Down Power Yoga in Hartford will offer Teen Yoga classes this summer. Kids ages 12 to 15 can find their OM Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 3:00 PM starting June 18th. If you don’t know about this amazing studio…let us tell you! 1. It’s stunning inside (exposed brick walls, gorgeous wood details, cool merchandise) 2.
