BERKINS BLEND RAMPS UP GRAB AND GO MENU, CATERING
As businesses attempt to get back to some sense of normalcy this week, we are highlighting one of our faves. Berkins Blend is the neighborhood coffee shop. Owners, Doug and Andrea, took a courageous leap of faith when they opened their shop on Hebron Avenue. They celebrate five years this June! You know we love a from-the-ground-up story and this one is impressive. After both were laid off from their jobs, they decided to venture into the coffee business. What they've created is not just a place to get your morning coffee, but a gathering spot for friends, business people, and family members. It's the place where you catch up with old friends, make meaningful connections, and forge deep relationships. Doug and Andrea are incredibly supportive of not just other local businesses, but ALL of the people they encounter in town. As they move toward their new reality, they're revamping their menus to include more grab-and-go items. But, also, did you know they CATER out of their second location in Hartford, Berkins on Oak?!! JUST BE SELF-CARE RETREAT REVEALED
The new self-care retreat on the Glastonbury/East Hartford line is opening soon and we have your first look! If you haven't heard about it, listen up, my friends. Just Be will eventually offer all of the things you need to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate. In this new reality, they're finding unique ways to offer services to people within the state guidelines. Right now, they have office space for independent workers looking for a nice escape from the daily grind of working from home. Space is fully furnished, Wifi equipped with UV air filtration units, and will be fully sanitized between use. WESTFARMS MALL REOPENS THIS WEDNESDAY
Westfarms mall announced last week that it will reopen this Wednesday, May 20th on a reduced schedule.
Here is what you need to know:
HOURS: Monday - Saturday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
(Individual restaurants and retailers in the mall may have different hours - CALL AHEAD)
They will be cleaning and disinfecting surfaces throughout the day and after hours, encouraging the use of masks, using signage to help remind customers about social distancing, and removing seating areas.
Mall walkers will be allowed in one hour prior to opening at 10:00 AM.
Curbside pickup will be offered at designated areas near the mall entrances.
