PROPOSED FARM BREWERY…STOP & SHOP ON OAK RENOVATIONS

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

PROPOSED FARM BREWERY IN SOUTH GLASTONBURY FACES PUBLIC HEARING

Tobacco and hop farmer, Al Gondek Jr. and his partner, Phil Lohr, hope to bring a farm brewery to South Glastonbury! Their plan is to renovate an old tobacco barn on Gondek’s remote property off Dug Road. Hops on the Hill Farm Market and Brewery would include a farmer’s market, featuring fresh, local products, and a farm-style brewery with a tasting room. So far, they have eight different kinds of beer, including German-style pilsners, an IPA, and an Amber. If the plan is approved, renovations will begin this Summer. They hope to be up and running by the Spring of 2019. First, the plan must be approved by the Town Plan and Zoning Commission. The meeting is Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 PM in the town hall council chambers.

Take a look at the gorgeous views and their crop of hops below.

STOP & SHOP GETTING TOTAL TRANSFORMATION

Stop & Shop on Oak Street is undergoing major renovations. The store will soon look completely different. They will also be closed for a short period of time this Summer to complete the update. The new features will be state of the art and make it easier for patrons to shop. Similar remodels have been done to other stores in Connecticut, including one in Greenwich and another in Middletown.
