LIQUID NIRVANA OWNER BUYS RED GERANIUM PROPERTY
We are beyond excited about this story! Rosy and Dinesh Kapur of South Glastonbury have purchased the Red Geranium property. Rosy is the owner of Liquid Nirvana Juice and Smoothie Bar in town. She had initially hoped to salvage the building (the inside has some gorgeous old wood features), but unfortunately, it’s in disrepair. Kapur is planning to tear it down and redevelop the property. Liquid Nirvana opened in 2014 in the plaza at 2333 Main Street. A second location later opened in Avon. The business was born after Kapur and her family began making all natural smoothies at home. She has since perfected her recipes and has a huge following. The new development will include retail space and possibly apartments. They hope to sign on businesses with the same “healthy lifestyle” philosophy of Liquid Nirvana. Construction won’t begin until the rotary is complete. Follow us for updates on this story…
THE YOGA SHOP COMING TO TOWN
A new wave yoga studio is opening in Glastonbury. The Yoga Shop, which originated in Old Saybrook, offers a unique style of yoga called LivFree Power Yoga. The name is a combo of the co-founder’s daughters, Livia and Freesia. This type of yoga is called vinyasa and uses heat during classes. We are still waiting to hear back from them on a location and opening date. Stay tuned…
DAYBREAK OPEN SUNDAYS
We learned awhile back that Daybreak Coffee Roasters sold to new owners. Brother and sister duo, Linda and Carmelo, still own the iconic building, but sold the coffee shop to a woman and her nephew a couple of months ago. The new owners recently announced that the popular gathering spot will now be OPEN on Sundays. Their Sunday hours will be 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Stop in and welcome them to town.
CONSIGNMENT STORE RESUMES FULL HOURS
The Second Chance Shop on Hebron Avenue is now open FULL TIME Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you don’t know about them, they do amazing work. Their profits go to The Village for Families and Children in Hartford which gives families health, development, and support services. They accept new and gently used clothing, shoes, jewelry and household items. Last year, they donated more than $100-thousand to the organization.

*It’s that time of year again! The 44th Annual Apple Harvest Festival will be the weekend of October 12th to 14th. It’s $5 per person and kids 3 feet tall and under are FREE. They are also looking for volunteers and corporate sponsors. Click here if you are interested.
*Greekin’ Out food truck will expand their reach this Fall when they become a regular vendor at UConn football games. The Glastonbury-based food truck vendor has been added to the unique craft food offerings at Pratt & Whitney Stadium. How exciting for them!
*This weekend is the 56th Annual ‘On the Green’ Fine Art & Craft Show. The show runs Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There is FREE parking and FREE admission. Head there to see some creative local artists.
*The Stop & Shop gas station on Main Street has added a cool new vending machine. Grab-N-Go features Road Trip Snacks that appeal to families on the move! How easy is that? Check it out below.
