THE FRESH MONKEE EXPANDING…TEMPORARY TENANT IN PIATTI

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

THE FRESH MONKEE EXPANDING

The Fresh Monkee is opening their 4th location! They are currently renovating space at 405 Queen Street in Southington. This is in the plaza with Nardelli’s and Fancy Bagels. The new shop will be run by Southington-native, Tammy Williams. The Fresh Monkee owner, Judy Flynn, opened her first healthy shake shop in Wethersfield 4 years ago. She has since opened locations in Glastonbury, Berlin, and now Southington. She also runs the monkee bus. It travels to various locations throughout the state. She hopes to open the Southington shop mid-August/early September.

FORMER PIATTI SPACE HOSTS TEMPORARY TENANT

We have had many questions about the former Piatti space on Hebron Avenue. We just learned that, starting today, the Glastonbury Democratic Town Committee will occupy the space from now until elections this November. Piatti closed their doors one year ago. Since then, several restaurant owners have looked at the space, but none have leased it. For now, you will see a flurry of activity as the committee takes over!

NEW MASSAGE SERVICE AT HEALTHTRAX

Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness recently added a new HydroMassage lounge. The massage system uses powerful waves of water to give you a heated, deep-tissue massage in just 10 minutes. We can attest, after trying it, that it’s pretty amazing! The service is available to Healthtrax members for $10 per month. The health center will soon undergo some major renovations. We plan to follow them, so check back to see the new space!

THE SCOOP FEATURES LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS

The Scoop Glastonbury is excited to announce that we have finished our first video FEATURE shoot with One Big Happy Photo. We had a great Saturday morning at her studio on New London Turnpike and can’t wait to show you how she works with newborns and their families to create some truly magical photographs. She is hugely talented and has a unique connection with babies. Take a look at a few snapshots of our time with her below. The video will be up soon! And, check our website for information about our FEATURES!

SUMMER FUN IN BUSHNELL PARK

The Bushnell Foundation is showcasing their fun family attractions this summer in the park. They have something for everyone! There are park and tree tours, FREE movie nights, and yoga classes. They also offer tours of the Arch and carousel rides for $1 (a favorite childhood memory). There is also a newly-renovated playground for kids. The map below shows you where to go for more information.
