COTE GOLF'S RISE FROM BASEMENT TO BIG BUSINESS
Chris Cote's love for golf has driven nearly every business decision he's made to this point. It all started in his North Kingstown, Rhode Island high school where he was an all-state golfer and state champion. Years after school, he started selling golf clubs on eBay from his basement. The business grew so much (and took over the house), he decided to open Chris Cote's Golf Shop on Main Street in Portland. Chris's knack for understanding the needs of golfers led to many accolades over the years, including recognition as a Top 100 Club Fitter by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Mizuno, and PING. In 2011, he built a 7,000-square foot facility on Route 66 and the rest is history. From basement to big business, Chris and his wife, Donna, now own five Chris Cote Golf locations. They have ranges in Portland and Southington, two retail shops offering FREE club fittings, and recently opened an indoor golf facility next to their Portland shop that offers TrackMan simulation where you can play on courses from around the world. LIQUID NIRVANA HELPS GLASTONBURY BOY COLLECT PJs
Liquid Nirvana recently teamed up with 8-year old Oliver Koenig-Paquin to help him reach his goal of donating 2,500 sets of pajamas for Oliver's Pajama Project. The Glastonbury boy started his collection drive 5 years ago to help give kids in need PJ's (LOVE!). Liquid Nirvana owner, Rosy Kapur is offering her space and a $5 coupon to anyone who donates PJ's. Rosy has always been a huge supporter of local people and organizations trying to DO-GOOD! Recently, she has helped feed those on the front lines during the pandemic and given much of her time and services to the Breast Friends Fund in town.
