A STORY ABOUT THE TRUE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS!

HERE'S THE DO-GOOD CHRISTMAS SCOOP...

LOCAL TEACHER HELPS FAMILY WHO LOST EVERYTHING IN FIRE

This is a story about the true meaning of Christmas. Our friend (and Glastonbury resident), Jessica Paole teaches third grade at CREC Discovery Academy in Wethersfield. Last week, one of her students and his family lost everything in a fire that destroyed their home. She sent out a text to 20 people here in town asking for help. Within just a couple of hours, she raised more than $4000 and received enough donations of clothing and items to dress the entire family for the rest of the season! Jessica organized bins for each of the six family members, including Mom, Dad, and their four kids so it would be easy for them while they are staying in a hotel. Along with the individual donations, Oliver from Oliver's Pajama Project donated pairs of PJ's for the family and $40 of the money he saved this year to give back to those in need (We are not crying!!!). When Jessica delivered the items, the parents were moved to tears by this generosity in their time of need. We know 2020 was a strange and difficult year for so many people, but we were inspired by this amazing story and hope you are too!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
