TIMELINE FOR SHOPS ON MAIN
The main building of the new development, Shops on Main, next to McDonald’s, is coming along! Tenants will move in by the summer. According to the real estate development company, Carpionato Group, Jersey Mike’s will be the first to open in mid-June. The sub sandwich shop, which started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, is now franchised across the country. Chik-Fil A is aiming for a mid-July opening.
ICE CREAM SHOP OPEN FOR THE SEASON!
ROBBS Farm Ice Cream Shop opened this Saturday. Their hours for the Spring are Tues/Wed/Thurs from 6:00-8:00 PM and Fri/Sat/Sun from 12:00-8:00 PM. They have 34 homemade flavors and offer quarts for purchase.
PACKAGE STORE IN FOX RUN MALL CLOSES
Universal Package Store in The Fox Run Mall, next to Foxy Pizza, appears to be closed, but a sign on the door says they are renovating. The retail store, which has successful locations in Mystic, Noank, Storrs, and New London, has been in business since 1943. The Glastonbury store was open for about a year.
NEW LOCATION FOR MUSIC STREAMING COMPANY
CUR Music has moved into the former Caribbean Charm space on New London Turnpike across from the Post Office. The media company targets teens and college students by offering music streaming services for $1.99/month. The service combines internet radio and on demand listening along with social tools for sharing with friends.
LOCAL BOUTIQUE CLOSED
The Artisan’s Boutique, behind Ken’s Corner, is closed. The Boutique offered an eclectic mix of items including repurposed furniture and decorative home pieces. First World Mortgage will be moving into that space.
