HERE’S THE SCOOP…
Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union is a hometown bank with big bank options. They offer products and services to a range of clients, including all income levels, and maintain personal relationships with those they serve. In Glastonbury since 2008, they are located on the corner of House Street and Salmon Brook Drive.
Did you know anyone can join? That’s right, no affiliation is necessary…anyone is welcome to become a member. Some of the benefits include lower rates on loans, higher rates on deposits, and little to no fees.
CEO, John Holt, who lives in Glastonbury and might have been destined to be a banker (he used to pretend as a kid), says Nutmeg is at the forefront of many exciting changes.
“I think the credit union industry is poised to do everything, catering to younger clients by offering self-service technology, like our banking kiosks or mobile app, or helping older clients by guiding and educating them about these new technologies.”
In spite of their growth, Nutmeg still has a small bank feel. When customers visit a branch, they are likely greeted by name. When they call customer service, they talk to a real person on the other end.
And, big things are happening with the branch in Glastonbury. They plan to redesign the interior and lease out the extra space and will eventually redevelop the property next door.
