NEW DAYCARE OPENS AT THE END OF AUGUST

The Learning Experience on Oak Street (next to Melzen's) will open by the end of August in time for the new school year. This is the 3rd location for Glastonbury residents, Dee and Shital Patel. They also have centers in Cromwell-Rocky Hill and New Haven. They are currently registering children ages 6 months to 6 years. Kids learn through the L.E.A.P program, which follows an "explore" and "do" philosophy. And, their motto: HAPPY HAPPENS HERE is geared toward bringing joy and engagement to children every day. LOVE that! Find out more about the program HERE and don't miss our VIDEO FEATURE with them COMING SOON!

BROOKSIDE MARKET NOW OPEN

We are excited to welcome the new Brookside Market to town! We popped in for yesterday's opening day and the inside is much brighter and more spacious. They have a nice selection of deli items, choice meats, and to-go foods. The aisles feel wider and are stocked really well. Check out the renovations below!

THE SOW'S EAR SALES PRE-CLOSURE

We were so bummed to hear that The Sow's Ear is closing, but owners, Monica McCafferty and Sarah Lavalette assure us it's not sad for them as they look forward to the next chapter! Right now, they have 20% off much of their merchandise and 40% off Christmas items and some cute handbags. Stop in to get something fun and wish them good luck in whatever they do next!

LOCAL ABC PROGRAM IN NEED OF DONATIONS TO SURVIVE

For the last 46 years, Glastonbury A Better Chance has been giving high school students of color an opportunity to receive a better education by living in the ABC House and attending Glastonbury High School. They're now in need of funding to keep the program running. All of their fundraising events have been canceled because of COVID and they will be incurring additional costs to keep the house clean, feed students, and hire additional staff if there is e-learning. Please consider donating to this decades-old program that has changed the lives of so many young men! Click HERE to contribute.

*Katz Hardware is selling neighborhood candles! So fun, right?! They have a large selection that includes Buttonball, Addison, Chestnut Hill, and Main Street or some of the local pool clubs like Minnechaug, Woodledge and Orchard Hill. We are hoping for Hebron Avenue or The Hills (hint hint) to be available soon too!

*Do you know about the Spruce Street Market in Manchester? It's an outdoor market with some really amazing vendors: Birch Mountain Farm, DeLuca Family Farm, Dondero Orchards, Fox Meadow Farm, Granny's Pie Factory, The Modern Milkman, Twice the Spice, Keifer's Kettle Korn & Italian Ice...the list goes on and on.
