NEW OWNERS TO RENOVATE GLASTONBURY STRIP MALL
The strip mall near TJMaxx and Michaels across from Nardelli's in Glastonbury is being sold to new owners. They are planning major renovations to the exterior (see example rendering below). ANIMAL HOSPITAL COMING TO SHOPS ON MAIN
Banfield Pet Hospital is opening in the space next to Aspen Dental in the Shops on Main. This is a chain that started in Portland, Oregon in 1955, by a local veterinarian there. They now have more than one-thousand locations across the country and provide preventative and emergency care to pets. Clients can also purchase wellness plans. Construction on the inside is underway! Stay tuned for an opening date.

VOLUNTEERS AT UR COMMUNITY CARES HELP RESIDENTS IN NEED
UR Community Cares was founded by Michelle Puzzo in February of 2019. She is a physical therapist and repeatedly noticed a need among her patients for help around their house...gardening, cleaning up, taking out the trash, grocery shopping, companionship...but none of them could pay for private caregivers. So, Michelle partnered with local entrepreneur, M.D. Birmingham, and started offering this service for FREE! The non-profit is currently in 90 towns across the state and hopes to expand to every town by the end of this year. Currently, they're looking for both volunteers and a town liason (to help with outreach) for Glastonbury. The organization is fully insured and does background checks on all volunteers! Kathleen is a Glastonbury volunteer and has found great joy in helping local resident Bob McKiver with his grocery shopping or whatever he needs. They have developed a true friendship. *There are some rumors that Edge Fitness has pulled out of their Glastonbury location behind Chili's. According to our sources, who are close to Edge Corporate, this is not true. The popular fitness spot has many projects that were lined up for 2020, most of which were delayed due to COVID. We will keep you posted.
