Candle and home product company, Timber & Thyme is offering some truly incredible new items this holiday season. Our favorite is their festive 'crackling' candles made with wood wicks (hence the crackle sound they make). They come in all different sweet, savory, and festive scents (Christmas Hearth is our fave!). They also just launched a line for men with fun names like The Outdoorsmen and Dapper Gentlemen! Some other great gifts include custom soaps, body butters, and hand sanitizer. Find them on Small Business Saturday at the Main Street Holiday Market in front of Your CBD Store or click HERE for more info about what they offer.

2400 MAIN

The mix of vintage and modern in the brand new home decor boutique, 2400 Main, is impressive. Their curated line of antique items are so gorg, you will think they are new! They offer truly unique gifts like cozy camo gloves with poms-poms for women (yes please!), a custom tequila shot tray (COVID made you do it!), tumbler sets for men (includes glasses, freezer stones, and coasters), a basket of practical home cleaning items, the warmest fur scarf and fingerless glove sets, and vintage black wine glasses that show new! We want everything in this shop and so will you!

Ginger & Pickles cookies top our sweet list for 2020. Nancy Hayden had a catering company for years before transitioning into baked goods. Her cookies are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. She offers a variety of flavors including Glazed Coconut Cream (unreal), Caramel Toffee, Chocolate Chunk (everyone's favorite), and Birthday Cake (among others). This year, they have a Bake-Your-Own Ginger & Pickles Cookies gift set (something different and fun), and Birthday Boxes to celebrate a loved one's special day. All cookies are baked fresh! Did you know Katz Hardware has some of the cutest gifts around? This year, we love the stemless wine glasses topped with colorful pom-pom wine stoppers and fun sayings (FEST. IVE!) or the cute coffee or hot chocolate mugs with towels. Their selection of customized Glastonbury products (cards, water bottles, kitchen towels, signs, ornaments and more) is unmatched (the baby onsie is too-cute). For something one-of-a-kind, check out the neighborhood candles or holiday pillows. Stop in to see for yourself and tell them The Scoop sent you!

It's all about the current state of affairs at The Silver Dahlia this holiday season and we are just fine with that, because there are SO many cute new things! On the cozy side, choose from a festive crop waffled shirt (the cutest!), a Sherpa cardigan (Cozy with a capital C!), or a Vera Bradley robe that will leave you feeling wrapped in luxury. There is even more to love about their new jewelry line, Ella Stein. The pieces are leftover remnants from diamonds that have been shaped (real diamonds!). They are sourced from India and made by women who are paid fair, decent wages (a sparkling YES for us!). If you're looking to stock up on the 2020 essentials, check out their hysterical hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and Santa with a mask ornaments, designer masks in multiple patterns and styles or their hand sanitizer holders in camo, animal print, or tie-dye (a trendy trifecta right?!). Find all of these unique gifts in store or online HERE.

Our favorite local bookstore, River Bend Book Shop, is brimming with ideas to entice the avid (or even not-so-avid) readers. First up is the collector's cookbook, The French Laundry, Per Se, by Thomas Keller. This gorgeous book is adorned with spectacular pictures and a plethora of information about cooking and running a successful restaurant (Keller is the first and only American chef to have two Michelin Guide 3-star-rated restaurants). Next, their collection of Ruth Bader Ginsburg books and gifts items is perfect to inspire girls, women, and men alike! For kids, Nat Enough (written by local author, Maria Scrivan) is a thoughtful and honest story of what it's like to feel like you are not enough and how to overcome. They also have a curated selection of fiction and non-fiction, including Sue Miller's novel, Monogamy and Thomas Ricks Pulitzer Prize winner, First Principles. What we love most about River Bend is that it's hard not to pick a perfect book, so get down there and find something for everyone on your list or buy online HERE.

We love that you can walk into Gozzo Jewelers with any price point in mind and walk out with something gorgeous! They have everything from affordable to high-priced pieces that are simple and stunning or sparkly and bright. This year, they are showcasing their items by price (see below), but some of our favorites are stackable rings with custom stones, unique dangly earrings, bracelets and necklaces adorned with diamonds, and a stunningly beautiful black onyx ring with diamond accents that is officially on our wish list! GET THERE!

The creativity flowing out of Glazed Pottery Painting & Art Studio is to die don't have to be a talented artist to whip up a gorgeous piece for the one you love! They have all the tools to help. If you're unsure about your skill level, choose from their line of 'coloring book' pottery that comes with pre-fired designs or use their stencils. An assortment of ornaments are a great and affordable way to give someone a personalized gift made by your kids (think Grandma or Auntie!). They continue to offer their Glazed-to-Go Kits for anyone looking to stay home. And, finally....our absolute favorite: the ceramic Christmas trees, which bring us back to our childhood Christmas at Nana's house in Boston! Peruse their website HERE for a look at their impressive selection.

Women: CHECK. The Entertainer: CHECK. The Home Decorator: CHECK. We find something new and unique every time we visit. This year, we love their selection of cozy and stylish hats and gloves for men and women or their new mini, plaid clutches (sure to be a favorite for any gal you know)! They also have some truly thoughtful gifts: Art Hearts with inspirational messages or new candles from Milkhouse Candle Co. in an array of scents. For something more festive, choose from their collection of holiday decor: gnomes, light-up snowmen, ceramic Christmas-tree night lights, or custom-made stunning wreaths. Is it just us or does Pinwheels make you wish you were still a kid?! They have the best line of Bruder vehicles (fire trucks, garbage trucks, jeeps, dump trucks) that will stand the test of any angry toddler! Grandparents love giving the traditional baby dolls from Corolle (the French doll-making company). Or how about the Jumbo 4 in a Row from Franklin? NeeDoh's are a trend that just keep getting bigger (LITERALLY! They now come in GIANT sizes). Or...what about Magna-Tiles? They keep kids busy for hours = WIN! There is literally something for EVERY CHILD in this store! But remember, you can't go wrong with a gift card if indecisiveness gets the best of you.
