COLLEGE PLANNER WILL DO THE HEAVY LIFTING...PLUS, SCHOOL OF ROCK COMING SOON!

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

LISA VITARELLI WILL HELP FIND THE RIGHT COLLEGE FOR YOUR CHILD

Calling all parents of kids prepping for college and in need of a little help...we have an amazing (and incredibly affordable) college planner to help make the process easier for both you and your child! Lisa Vitarelli is the owner of Common Sense College Advising. She offers packages for Juniors and Seniors embarking on their college search. Her experience as a high school counselor combined with what she did to help her own children find the right school will make your child's college application process incredibly seamless (YES PLEASE!). Lisa is one of those people who makes it happen.

She has assisted many students in applying to colleges at all levels of competitiveness (including her own kiddos!) and helped students find the appropriate support service program if needed. This is a true example of Lisa's philosophy that THERE IS A COLLEGE FOR EVERYONE. Her 4-step easy-to-understand process includes an interview where she will get to know your child, formulate a list of reach, target, and safety schools, guide them through the application process, and then help them with their final choice. Lisa is a true gem and started this business because she has a passion for helping kids find their path. To see her offerings, click HERE or email her to set up a consult: lisa@commonsensecollegeadvising.com

SCHOOL OF ROCK COMING TO EAST HARTFORD/GLASTONBURY LINE

School of Rock....one of the COOLEST spot for kids to learn how to play instruments is coming to the Glastonbury/East Hartford line (location announcement soon). Scott Ronin owns the West Hartford location and recently decided to open a location East of the River. If you don't know about it, School of Rock is essentially performance-based lessons. That means kids learn how to play instruments by being in a band. They practice together and the school books gigs for them at local establishments!!!! UMMMMMM....could this be any more FUN?! We think not. We want to highlight some of the things happening at the West Hartford location so you can get a jumpstart if you're interested. They're offering multiple camps this summer (Pop Legends, Green Day, 80's Rock camps to name a few) . Click HERE to learn more or register. We will soon announce the location of this local spot, but want to let you know that they are aiming to open this fall. Stay tuned as we follow them!

TPZ MEETING CONTINUED

The Glastonbury Town Plan & Zoning meeting regarding two main issues has been CONTINUED! Trader Joe's and the construction of a 5-story apartment complex on the corner of Manchester Road and Hebron Avenue are on the docket. The continuation will allow for more time for both developers to address the concerns brought up in the last meeting. The proposal for Trader Joe's (not officially mentioned, but confirmed by The Scoop) is to demolish two homes on Linden Street to make way for an employee parking lot and loading dock. The proposal for the apartment complex in East Glastonbury drew quite the opposition at the last TPZ meeting. Stay tuned for more on June 21st which is the new date for these two issues!

POLE 4 FITNESS COMING SOON

There is a new fitness spot going in on Oakwood Drive. It's called Pole 4 Fitness and will be located next to Made U Look Promotions on the right hand side heading toward Commerce Street.
