Ola (aka: Art by Ola) recently discovered a new passion for esthetics and transitioned her career to self-care. STATION 35 RENO: The plaza where Constantine Hardware used to be is getting a facelift. We REALLY hope this means a new tenant is coming soon! STAY TUNED.

SHAH'S HALAL FOOD TO GBURY: The owners of the Shah's Halal Food in Vernon announced they are also opening a location in Glastonbury. We hear it's at the plaza near ShopRite across from Nardelli's on the East Hartford line. It will be in the end cap.

AMICI'S RISTORANTE OPENING: The Italian restaurant coming to Buck's Corner near Lotties in SoG is expected to OPEN this week pending approvals. The owners of Amici's Ristorante are excited to bring authentic Italian to this little spot. The chef is Rudy from the NOW CLOSED Rudy's Little Italy in Rocky Hill. See below for the Amici's menu.

RENOWNED OVERDOSE PREVENTION SPEAKER TO GLASTONBURY

Nationally known and beloved speaker, Stephen Hill (Founder of Speak Sobriety) is coming to Glastonbury to share how he overcame addiction in an inspiring story that will offer hope to many members of the community. It's all part of Glastonbury's Day of Awareness happening on August 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Glastonbury Academy Building. Hill will speak at 5:00 PM. The event is hosted by Glastonbury Youth & Family Services and Glastonbury Community Action Partnership. A MUST attend event for anyone struggling with or knows someone struggling with addiction or mental health issues. See the flyer below.

*Lights have been installed at the pickleball courts located at the Riverfront Community Center. To operate, players should hit button #1 (the lower button) on the grey panel near the court entrance. After 45 minutes, the lights will dim, and players will need to hit the button again to initiate another 45-minute cycle. Please note, the lights will NOT function before dusk or from 10:00 PM forward. Visit the town website for more information about the courts, including equipment available to borrow!

*The Town recently purchased two parcels of undeveloped open space located off Woodhaven Road and totaling more than 25-acres. The land was purchased from The Scott Pagliughi Revocable Trust for $270,000. Staff at the town will be reviewing the property to identify areas suitable for hiking and potential trail establishment.
