HERE’S THE SCOOP…
RENDERINGS OF THE OLD TRADING SPACES BUILDING ARE STUNNING
During a recent public hearing with the Town Planning & Zoning Commission, plans were revealed for renovations to the old Trading Spaces building next to Dairy Queen at the corner of Main and Spring Streets. The tenants that were mentioned during the hearing were Strand Salon, a bakery, a nail salon, and office space. We are told that Strand Salon is not 100% and that the sale of the building will not be complete until September. Even still...there was A LOT of excitement for the renovation of this building, which has been in need of love for quite some time. We are excited to see how this ends up. See the rendering below.
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?
We are likely late to the party on this one, but we recently saw a video about this and thought it was worth a mention. In Norwalk, there is a giant development of the old power plant along the water. Manresa Wilds will be a vibrant community park that will offer year-round programming, educational and event space, an indoor climbing, aquatics, play, and learning space, and a one-of-a-kind guest lodge for overnight stays and more. This is a dream of Austin and Allison McChord who are investing in the property after the billion-dollar sale of their tech company. They realized their vision after kayaking by the island and realizing what it could become! See the renderings below. We just LOVE this!
SCOOP BITS...

The gelato shop coming to Main Street Glastonbury is still undergoing renovations. Noci Gelato is opening in the former Gotta Have It space (they moved to New London Turnpike). The owners of Noci tell us that there is still a lot of work to be done to the space before they can open. We will keep you posted!

The new 1912 Restaurant opening at 18 Concord Street across from The Diamond parking lot will hold a Grand Opening party this Sunday, July 27th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM and YOU ARE ALL INVITED! They will have passed hors d'ouevres and cookies from local businesses. Can't wait to pop in!

Brides to Be is up FOR SALE. Click HERE for their website post announcing the sale. This is in the plaza across from the fountain on Main Street. Stay tuned for more info.

Renovations are underway to the plaza where Constantine Hardware was located (next to Giovanni's). We are told they are just giving the building a facelift and doing some repairs. We will keep you posted about any new tenants.
