We have been spreading the news about one of our favorite summer spots for a couple of years now, but things just keep getting better and more popular with kids and parents at Glenbrooke Outdoor Sports Center on the Glastonbury/East Hartford line. They are now offering payment plans for the always affordable deluxe 8-week Drop Off Day Camp Program. It's 35 hours per week of fun ALL. DAY. LONG. for kids and it's only $299 per week. Or, if you are new to Glenbrooke and just want a spot to cool off and swim with the fam, their new $500 Introductory Family Fun Pass (new families only) is a summer steal (they are also offering a weekend-only option for $350). Looking to teach the super littles to swim? They have red-cross certified evening swim lessons for $225 for ALL 6 WEEKS (jaw drop). In addition, they have pickleball, jump rope, basketball, soccer, arts & crafts, games, and more. PORTLAND QUARRY SITE TO BECOME NORDIC SPA
We know it's not Glastonbury, but it's close enough and certainly interesting enough to mention...there is a Nordic Spa coming to a quarry site just over the line at 311 Brownstone Avenue in Portland. The property was owned by a couple who restored the land to its natural beauty (BIG love to them) and are in the process of selling it to a company out of Canada. Pomeroy Lodging is a family-owned company which plans to transform the site into a Nordic spa and wellness center that will operate year-round. According to The Middletown Press, the spa will include a two-story bathhouse, bistro, outdoor patio, heated pedestrian walkways, steam rooms, salt hydrotherapy, a pool, fire pits, barrel saunas and more.
