HIGH-TECH AT DENTAL DOCTORS OF SOMERSET...PLUS, GLASTONBURY YOUTH WRESTLING RETURNS

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

DENTAL DOCTORS OF SOMERSET OFFERS HIGH-TECH CARE WITH A HOMEY FEEL

Is it just us or is someone you know always looking for a dentist? We think the latter...soooo... we found a dentist for that someone: Dental Doctors of Somerset. Dr. Michael Egan started practicing dentistry in 1975 in Hartford, moving the office to Glastonbury in 2003. He began using dental lasers in 1995 (back before it was common) and has since trained thousands of dentists across the country in how to use them safely and effectively. He is truly a master in using minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat patients with infection. His main concern, always, is the oral health of patients and their comfort level during treatment. Dr. Egan's partner, Dr. Ana Fernandez radiates warmth and kindness and believe it or not, is drawn to the creative side of dentistry where she can assess a patient's needs and potential goals and then create a clear path to satisfaction for them. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Dr. Fernandez moved here in 1997 with her husband. She now lives in Glastonbury with him, their two girls and two dogs! Recently, the doctors hired Dr. Danny Fitzgerald. Glastonbury born and raised, his life has come full circle...he shadowed Dr. Egan and Dr. Fernandez in high school and fell in love with dentistry. The office as a whole offers high-tech treatment with multiple 3D scan machines to help diagnose disease and track changes or potential problems, and lasers to offer minimally invasive solutions to a patient's needs. They are currently accepting new patients. Click HERE to learn more or call for an appointment: 860.657.5522.

GLASTONBURY YOUTH WRESTLING: THE BENEFITS EXTEND TO EVERY SPORT!

If you are in search of a winter sport for your kids that instills core values, self-control, confidence, strength, discipline, routine, camaraderie, and more...wrestling is a great match (no pun intended). Glastonbury Youth Wrestling is a program for kids Kindergarten through 8th grade that meets three times per week at Gideon Welles School. This one-of-a-kind sport offers kids the chance to become not only better all-around athletes, but better people too! This year is more exciting than ever with an all-star roster of coaches who have returned because of their love for the sport and the kids. This means the best of the best in instruction and development. We have seen first-hand the way wrestling has transformed kids both on and off the mat. Not to mention, one of the GREATS: Pro-Wrestler Bob Backland is from Glastonbury and often returns to talk with the kids about how it can change their life. Right now, there is a no-commitment offer for kids to try the sport for two weeks and see if it's for them. Reach out to Ethan Reid if you have any questions: ethan.o.reid@gmail.com. Or, if you are ready to roll, register HERE today.

SPA POINTE OPENS SECOND LOCATION

Spa Ponte opened another location at the old YOJI salon at 124 Hebron Avenue (in the plaza with Square Peg) this past Friday. While the original location is more of a pop in and out for a quick mani/pedi, Spa Pointe Too has a more "STAY AWHILE AND RELAX" vibe. We love the full wall projector of soothing scenes like swimming fish or lapping waves. It's on our list of must-visit spots!

DO GOOD SCOOP...

IT WILL BE A MAGICAL TIME AT TREES OF GIVING

We are SOOOOOOO excited to highlight this incredible event that is being hosted by Keri & Sarah: William Raveis and Abby from The Inspired Kitchen. Trees of Giving : A Magical Benefit for Glastonbury Gives will be held Friday December 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday December 3rd from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM inside Glen Lochen. MARK.YOUR.CALENDARS. This is how it works...ANYONE: business owners, office employees, neighborhoods, residents, non-residents (you get the picture right?) can sponsor a themed Christmas tree. You buy it, put it up, and decorate it for the event. Attendees of the event can buy raffles tickets (minimum of $20) at the door and put the tickets in a basket near the tree they want. The trees will be raffled off and go to the homes of the lucky winners. ALL proceeds benefit Glastonbury Gives. The non-profit helps Glastonbury residents experiencing a crisis situation that has impacted their ability to pay for food, utility bills, housing costs, medical expenses, and other critical needs. It's funded entirely by contributions and 100% of the money goes to residents in need. A magical event for a great cause...what is better than that during the holidays? For info about how to sponsor a tree, email Keri keri.watkins@raveis.com or Sarah sarah.kimball@raveis.com.
