ROB BORMAN IS YOUR ONE STOP FOR ANY AND ALL LANDSCAPING NEEDS

Rob Borman has a healthy obsession with all things landscaping...mowing, pruning, caring for plants and flowers, edging, and on and on and on! The Glastonbury-based business owner and dad started his landscaping business, Landscape Advisors, after working for years as a groundskeeper for professional baseball and later as a grounds manager for a university. Rob loves transforming any kind of property but has a special affinity for those with hydrangeas...his favorite plant of all time. He and his team offer all facets of landscape maintenance including mowing, mulching, planting, pruning, and more. And, Rob takes great pride in providing a fantastic customer experience. NEW BUSINESS AURORA MATERIALS TO OFFER MULCH DELIVERY

There is a new materials yard at 240 Oakwood Drive offering pickup and delivery of mulch and other materials. Owner, Thor Norgaard says the mulch is made from forest products and contains no lumber or building products. It's made in Enfield by Connecticut Mulch Distributors. He offers three types: Natural Cedar, Premium Pine/Hemlock Blend, and Forest Blend (Dark Aged Natural Mulch). There is also screened topsoil cut with compost and processed gravel and stone. Sounds like a yard junkie's dream! The business also accepts wood chips and broken asphalt and concrete that they recycle and sell for larger applications. Thor is a longtime Glastonbury resident and business owner originally from Mansfield, CT. He is a fanatic about quality control and offers the best materials to both residential and commercial clients. Also, if you're interested in installation, that can be arranged through one of their landscape partners (easy peasy). To request a delivery, call 860.781.8703.

NEW VERTICAL FARM DEBUTS IN BOLTON

farm-a-leaf is a new farm out of Bolton that is working to grow the largest variety of leafy greens, herbs, roots, and fruits across Connecticut. They grow produce indoors in vertical channels with the help of blue and red LED lights. This method uses less water and space and helps reduce transportation emissions because they're able to grow the food closer to customers. Also, the environment is climate controlled enabling them to grow year-round without pesticides or herbicides (cool, right?). See a few pics of their unique operation below.
