LOCAL CREDIT UNION AND AAA TO OFFER DMV SERVICES...TWO NEW BUSINESSES TO BUCKS CORNER

HERE'S THE SCOOP...

DMV SERVICES TO BE OFFERED AT NEWLY RENOVATED CREDIT UNION

One more thing to add to the list of services available right here in town! Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union is teaming up with AAA to offer DMV Express services at their location on House Street. The branch is currently being renovated and redesigned to make this a convenient, one-stop for customers who are banking, renewing or replacing their driver's license, changing their name or address, or utilizing AAA services or products. This high-tech, easy-to-use location will introduce a NEW way of banking. Nutmeg members will operate self-service kiosks for most any transaction with help from a Nutmeg representative if needed. The credit union actually developed the software in these kiosks to help streamline the banking process for consumers on-the-go. (Pretty cool, right?) There will also be some perks for credit union members using the DMV Express services. When we broke the news last week, there was lots of excitement about this new convenience. Go Nutmeg for making this happen! See below to get an idea of what it will look like when it's done. Their target for opening is early fall.

NEW BUSINESSES TO BUCKS CORNER

There are two new businesses going into Buck's Corner near Lotties. Gbury 2 Go held their soft opening this past Friday. They expect to be in full swing this week and will offer a broad selection of to-go style breakfaster, lunch and dinner. Think coffees, smoothies, salads, full entrees and sides, and dessert. The new spot is owned by a Glastonbury family who used the Glastonbury High School colors and "G" to create their logo! See their menu HERE.

Opening a few doors down, next to Kim's Nails, is The Glastonbury Hair Lounge. Owner Meagan Tuttle has been doing hair since she was a teen. She says her new salon will have a bohemian vibe with a come-as-you-are attitude (wear your PJ's or stilettos...in other words...YOU DO YOU!). She says she will offer luxury hair care in a relaxed environment and is partnering with some of the best professionals in the business. HER GOAL: Help every one of them succeed. YOU GO Meagan! Her target for opening is July 21st. We will keep you posted.

THE PLACE 2 BE EXPANDS IN HARTFORD AND WEST HARTFORD

The Place 2 B will open two new locations this year! One in Blue Back Square West Hartford in the old space that was The Cook & The Bear. The other in the old Spectra Wired Cafe in downtown Hartford. They do breakfast, lunch, and drinks. One of which is called the Cotton Candy Cocktail. And...brunch boxes that look divine! WE ARE SO IN! The small business decided to move ahead with the expansion in spite of the current situation. We love this story of resilience, especially during these crazy times! Fingers crossed their next location is in Glastonbury, right?

ARETHUSA DAIRY FARM OPENS WEST HARTFORD SHOP

The Arethusa Farm Dairy West Hartford location is now OPEN and offering some fresh and delicious selections of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, paninis, salads, pastries, donuts, ice cream, coffee...we might stay there all day for a taste test! Their new location on Farmington Avenue is the 3rd in the state (the others are in Bantam and New Haven). If you have a minute to read more about this incredible local farm, visit their website to see how they started and some of the cool ways they have evolved over the years. Cheers to them and their success!
