Michelle Jacoby started Sundance Salon & Spa nearly 20 years ago in a small space on Main Street. She outgrew it quickly and has moved twice since then. REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ELITE SOCCER CLINICS
The elite soccer program Coerver East is currently registering kids for their NEW summer clinics at Glenbrooke Outdoor Sports Center. Executive Director, Ken Goodale, has more than 30 years of coaching experience. The clinics are offered to kids ages 4 to 14 years old. They are taught fundamental soccer skills that can be transferred to the field. The 'FIRST SKILLS' clinic is for kids ages 4 to 6 and will be weekly throughout the summer from 9:00 to 10:00 AM (just $75 per week!). The 'PERFORMANCE ACADEMY' is for kids ages 7 to 14 and is also weekly through the summer from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM ($225 per week). AQUAVENTURES NOW OPEN AT SOUTH GLASTONBURY MARINA
There is an awesome new business NOW OPEN at the Seaboard Marina in South Glastonbury called Aquaventures. They offer canoe, paddle board, kayak and paddle boat rentals. It's a gorgeous spot on the river in South Glastonbury. It's a little tricky to find. Follow directions to the Seaboard Marina at 684 Tryon Street and follow the gravel road to the left around back. REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR THE BILL LANDERS 5K
Bill Landers was not only a 1983 graduate of GHS, he was an avid runner, youth soccer coach and a member of the Glastonbury Education Foundation's Board of Directors. He died 13 years ago this September after a battle with cancer. The 5k race (held in his honor) is scheduled for June 12th from 8:30 to 11:00 AM. Money raised will go toward programs and initiatives that might not otherwise be available for Glastonbury students. It starts at the Hubbard Green and winds through the Buttonball neighborhood.
