HERE’S THE SCOOP…
FOUR EYES OPTOMETRY NOW OPEN
Dr. Reshma Patel has been working toward her dream of opening her own eye care practice for years...and it's finally come true. 4 Eyes Optometry held their grand opening last week at 181 Shunpike Road in Cromwell. It's a one-stop-shop for family eye-care from stylish frames to sight saving treatments. Dry eye disease is her passion ("Everyone has it—trust me"), and she’s not shy about calling herself part-doctor, part-therapist. Her practice offers routine exams and disease diagnosis (diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and more). She and her Optical Associate, Ashley handpicked all of the frames and sunnies they offer to fit every need and budget. With a resume packed with global volunteer missions, tricky diagnoses (yes, even brain tumors), and a following of fiercely loyal patients, Dr. Patel isn’t just checking vision—she’s building lifelong bonds. A few FUN FACTS: She’s trilingual (speaks English, Spanish, and Gujarati), bakes killer cookies, and crushes an Orangetheory workout. To book an appointment, click HERE.
NEW FARM TO TABLE RESTAURANT SET TO OPEN SOON
The new restaurant that is going into the house at 18 Concord Street across from The Diamond parking lot is OPENING SOON (we first reported on this in July of 2024). 1912 Restaurant will be an intimate space for seasonal farm-to-table pre-fix dinners, private gatherings, and workshops. In an introduction on the Insta, owners, Chef Jordan Patrick and his wife, Kristen, announced that they are just a few weeks away from opening their doors. Stay tuned for an exact date!
FORMER RED FOX PRIME SPACE UP FOR LEASE
Anyone looking to open something cool and fun? The former Red Fox Prime space is up FOR LEASE inside Glen Lochen. This is a unique space with angled ceilings and a sunny outdoor patio. We just have SO many ideas, but you go first! What do you think this town needs that would be an attraction to that spot? DM us if you are interested in contacting them: thescoopglastonbury@gmail.com
GOING THROUGH THE TOWN APPROVAL PROCESS...

-There is a proposal for a 6-lot subdivision in front of the solar farm on Hebron Avenue. The address is technically 17 Wickham Road (owned by Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Archdiocese of Hartford). At least there is a possibility we can hide those ugly solar panels that are ruining our view...

-Donderos Orchards is looking to add a barn for retail of farm-produced goods with a kitchen and seasonal eating at their stand at 3582 Hebron Avenue (up past Highland Park). This is very exciting!!! There is nothing like this in this part of town. Stay tuned.
