OOA (OUT OF AREA) BUT SCOOP-WORTHY
MANCHESTER: The Angry Egg on Main Street in Manchester has new owners. The beloved previous owners, Steve and Liz, are moving to Vermont and opening The Angry Egg 2 in Bennington. They are temporarily closed as the new owner does some renovations.
HARTFORD/WEST HARTFORD: In case you haven't already heard, the owner of The Place 2 Be and Raw Bar has been arrested for larceny. Gina Luari has been embroiled in legal troubles for some time including multiple lawsuits for non-payment of rent. The Place 2 Be West Hartford location had recently shut down but has since reopened. She is accused of issuing bad checks to the owner of Restaurant Equipment Paradise in East Hartford. Her next court date is October 22nd.
SCOOP WE ARE WATCHING
Lots of people asking us what is going into the Constantine Hardware space/Station 35 Plaza. Crews have been renovating the exterior for the last several weeks. Here is what we have heard. 1. It's not a restaurant or boutique. 2. They are still working out the details of the lease. We think we know what it is but are hoping to confirm within the next couple of weeks.
A few really great spaces are still up for grabs in Glen Lochen. The former Red Fox Restaurant space is still FOR LEASE. This was renovated into a restaurant not that long ago so it has to be "move-in ready". What can go here that can weather the storm? Also, we're hearing there MAY be a tenant for the larger space at the end (the old Great Escape - aging ourselves here) but have not been able to confirm anything quite yet. STAY TUNED!
We are hearing that Veda MedSpa is going into the building where F45 Training is located on Hebron Avenue. Their website says "COMING SOON" but does not reference a location. Stay tuned.
