SALON 22 GOT A FULL MAKEOVER AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
OK people...we know, we know...we get excited easily...BUT...you MUST see and visit the newly renovated Salon 22 on Oak Street. We are overwhelmed with all of the stunning angles, bright white furniture, light woods, pops of colored products, and simplicity of it all. When we dream of a space, this is it! So...if you're searching for a stylist, we have lots to tell you about this dreamy spot. Owner, Suzanne Kootz was searching for her passion after trying college for two years when she realized how content her own hairdresser was and loved the overall vibe at her salon. She went to cosmetology school and, as they say, the rest is history. She has owned her own salon in Glastonbury since 2008. Suzanne and her stylists focus mainly on cut, color, styling, and QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY. They are HONEST with clients about their hair type and possibilities that will work for cut and color. They have a seamless process from start to finish which helps clients find their ideal look and feel their best. Suzanne's MO is family first and loves that her career allows her to put them above all the rest. She brings this to her team and it's resulted in an environment that includes a solid work ethic, fun collabs, and frequent brainstorming. SQUARE PEG EXPANDING GLASTONBURY LOCATION
ICYMI: Square Peg is expanding their Glastonbury pizza restaurant and taking over the Berkins Blend space. The coffee shop announced that they will close this month so the owner, Doug, can retire. Square Peg's expanded space will have room for events (i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, sports parties etc.) and a chef's table for pizza and pasta making classes which will be hosted by the restaurant's head chef. We are excited to watch this unfold and get in on the fun of one of their cooking classes!
MICHAELS ADDS NEW OFFERINGS
Michael's is stepping up in light of the recent closures of stores such as Party City and Joann Fabric. The arts and crafts supply chain is NOW OFFERING balloons at their location in the Putnam Plaza on the Glastonbury/East Hartford line. They also recently announced that they acquired several private label brands of Joann Fabric and the popular yarn brand Big Twist.
QUESTION OF THE WEEK: WHAT IS BEING BUILT AT THE END OF HOUSE STREET?
We wish this was more exciting, but we are told that a building permit was filed in February of this year for a 7,729 square foot single family home (including 2,000 square feet of finished basement with walkout), a 2-story loft, 2 car garage, 10 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 2 half baths, and a 28x14 composite deck. We find this to be a strange location for such a home, but who are we to judge? There you have it.
