Dr. Carolina Padilla loves helping moms and moms-to-be. Her experience in women's health with a background as a Naturopathic Doctor and Lactation Consultant has prepared her to give them exactly what they need as they get ready for pregnancy or deal with post-baby experiences. TENANT SIGNED FOR OLD 1000 DEGREES SPACE
Pizza Pie / Gyro Love will go into the old 1000 Degrees space in the same plaza as Jersey Mike's and Chick-fil-A. They currently have locations in Bristol, Southington, Cromwell, and Plainville. The restaurant offers exactly what it says...pizza and gyros. Interesting combo, but we're game! They have other items too (i.e. sandwiches, burgers, salads, flatbreads). Their Google reviews are impressive. We will keep you posted on an opening date.
NEW OWNERS OF THE DIAMOND
The Diamond is in the process of being sold to new owners. The owner of Plan B and The Half Door (under the Local 8 Restaurant Group) is taking over the iconic restaurant. An announcement was made to staff and they met the new owner who told them he plans to keep everything the same.
PLANS FOR OLD LORD & TAYLOR SPACE
The former Lord & Taylor department store space at Westfarms will be transformed into a York Factory co-working space. It's not just any co-working space. The vision is quite interesting and will seemingly be a huge draw for those looking for a collaborative type atmosphere. They offer single or multiple tenant space, weekly events (family dinners, sports teams, community service opps, happy hours, lunch and learns, group fitness classes), child and dog care, life coaching, concierge services, and a physical and mental wellness center. NEW, INTERACTIVE CLASS FOR KIDS
There is a wonderful new class for kids and their parents (or grandparents) launching this fall. Parent Tot is run by long time child care professional, Vickie Anderson. She is holding multiple sessions at South Congregational Church in S. Glastonbury and United Methodist Church in Wethersfield. The class is almost two full hours for 2 and 3-year olds and is designed to connect them with their parents or grandparents. It's the perfect way to prep the babes for preschool while enjoying some quality time with them! Kids who take these interactive classes are more excited about meeting new friends and learning at school. Registration is NOW underway.
